Our Story.
The farm is more than just flowers to us…
If you’ve ever dreamed of slowing down, getting your hands in the dirt, and surrounding yourself with beauty — welcome. You’re in the right place.
Hi, I’m Racheal — and along with my partner Willem and our giant, lovable English Mastiff, Leo, we’ve been growing flowers and building a life here on our family farm since 2020. What started as a new chapter for me has blossomed into something far beyond what I imagined: a shared passion for flowers, community, and the land that’s been in my family for decades.
How it all began...
After years of bouncing from one place to another in search of change, I found myself drawn back to my family’s land in South Kortright, NY. What began as weekends fixing up the property quickly turned into something more — especially when a certain charming neighbor started showing up to “check on me” (a.k.a. rescue me from mud pits and repair my DIY disasters).
Willem and I had known of each other for years, but the timing had never been right — until suddenly, it was. As our relationship grew, so did our dream of turning the farm into something truly special.
Seeds to Stems.
What began with field crops — corn, soybeans, pumpkins — eventually sprouted into sunflower fields and wildflower meadows. I fell hard for flowers (and secretly, so did Will and Leo). I started small, selling mason jar bouquets from a roadside stand. Over time, our flower plots expanded, and today we grow dozens of beautiful varieties, offering fresh, seasonal blooms to our local community.
Our Roots Run Deep.
This farm is more than a business — it’s home. In the early 1980s, my parents poured their hearts (and every spare penny) into this land, purchasing over 200 acres after spotting an ad in the newspaper. They built a rustic cabin by hand, raised four blonde-haired kids to love the wild beauty of the Catskills, and created a space that still brings our family together.
Throughout the years.
I grew up here — riding horses, catching salamanders in the stream, and making memories that would shape who I am. My mother and aunt rode bareback through the fields, wild and free. My father, the ultimate workhorse, built bridges, dug ponds, planted trees, and raised a timber-frame barn that still stands strong today. Though work and life kept them anchored downstate, their hearts never left the mountains.

As for the future? I’m a dreamer — and in my dreams, this whole farm is blanketed in blooms. While not every inch can be planted (some land is wooded, some hayed by a local farmer, and much is used for wildlife and conservation), we’ve carved out space to grow what we love.
Our flower fields include rows of sunflowers, colorful annuals and perennials, a wildflower meadow, and pumpkin patch. There's also a young apple & peach orchard growing quietly in the background.
Roses Brook Blooms is a labor of love, a celebration of nature, and a space we’re honored to share. It’s a place for creativity, for connection, and for finding joy in the simplest things.
Whether you’re visiting in person or simply following along from afar, we’re so glad you’re here. Thank you for being part of this blooming journey.
